Jerwood Commission
In 2012 The Jerwood Foundation awarded me one of 5 makers prizes to fund the creation of a new body of work to be exhibited at the Jerwood Space, London. The first piece Hive comprised of a series of large scale distorted blown glass components. Each blown form was then filled with distilled water to give the illusion of solid and impossibly heavy glass objects. The piece went on to be exhibited at the Oriel Mostyn Gallery, Wales and Shipley Art Museum in Gateshead. Similar works can be seen on the Intangible page in the Portfolio.

The second work You Reap What You Sow was displayed on a specially designed plinth which housed UV lighting. The piece consisted of large blown glass cylinders around 75cm tall that where then distorted wile the glass was still hot. Eacxh cylinder was then filled with distilled water and various inclusions made from uranium glass that glowed under the UV light to give the illusion of living sub aquatic plant life.
